GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Review chart notes in the organization's EHR system for accuracy of documentation and coding submitted by providers and clinical staff. Participate in provider and clinical staff education. Properly communicate coding information to providers and other staff to ensure compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Correction of coding problems in tickets returned by clearing house and insurance.
  2. Coding and documentation training for new providers (FTE and Locums).
  3. Answer coding question from providers, support staff, and business office.
  4. Enter hospital charges.
  5. Performing chart audits.
  6. Attend team coding webinars and trainings.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Regular and predictable attendance.
  9. Continuous learning in both personal and professional development.
  10. Consistent review, comprehension and reply of company email and related correspondence.

QUAIFICATIONS

  1. AAPC certified professional coder.
  2. ICD-10 Certification.
  3. Ability to organize and prioritize work and mange multiple priorities.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Excellent attention to detail.
  6. Ability to research and analyze data.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, co-workers and staff.
