North Country HealthCare is transforming healthcare for rural Arizona as a Primary Care, Federally Qualified Teaching Health Center. We provide Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Dental, Physical Therapy, and Behavioral Health services to the under-served population throughout northern Arizona. Description
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients by ensuring they receive the specialized care they need. As a Referral Coordinator, you will work closely with our healthcare providers and insurance companies to coordinate and manage patient referrals, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the necessary care in a timely manner.
Duties
- Coordinates referrals to external medical providers.
- Obtains authorizations from various insurance companies according to their plan requirements.
- Tracking and following to close the loop making sure patients have seen referred provider.
- Maintains documentation and logs of patient referrals.
- Communicates status of patient referrals to the medical staff and the patient.
- Provides backup for clerical and or medical staff as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 12 to 18 months prior related experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Working knowledge of:
- Medical terminology
- HIPAA
- Phone based work
- Referrals
- Medical records
- Medical insurance
Compensation
Starting at $16.00/hr+ DOE
